2010-04-21 [Duredhel]: Did Veltz declare his character as female yet?
2010-04-21 [Sturmi]: nop.
2010-04-21 [Veltzeh]: Female it is then. I also have AIM, username veltzeh (who would've guessed?) :P
I'm fine with them knowing each other from childhood, but then I think we really need to nitpick the relationship and make extensive personality descriptions since they'd know each other pretty much thoroughly. X)
Do terms like lesbian and gay exist in Lemire? Or is it just "weird fancy" that is looked down by others, not cared by some and persecuted by yet others?
2010-04-21 [Lepellier]: Wouldn't it be persecuted? Anyhow, AIM here's leppie90, if we decide we want to start up a conversation on there to let things go faster.
2010-04-21 [Roma]: You know, I was just joking about the whole lesbian thing, but it would kind of go with the air of sexual deviance going on. Two lesbian forest thieves meet with two oedipal Dah'kin siblings, and then Padma and Virgil are left going :O!
And to answer you Lep, I know that Ixel, Dur, you, Vel, and I all have AIM.
2010-04-21 [Veltzeh]: Or we could just go to http://elftown
2010-04-21 [Veltzeh]: Dang, scratch my AIM, Pidgin is still having issues with it...
2010-04-21 [Veltzeh]: Okay, I managed to finally figure out what the error message said, took off some security feature and now it works again. Yay. X)
2010-04-21 [Duredhel]: The only ones who would probably have beef with same-sex couples are Nerva and Caessen (nerva more than Caessen). Catfolk, Planetarii and even Dahkin would be relatively accepting of it, i guess (well, as accepting of stuff as Dahkin can be XD)
2010-04-21 [Fetish Dolly Koneko™]: I have AIM. its darkelvenwitch
2010-04-21 [Duredhel]: Btw should i post a small guide about marriages and the sort in the different cultures?
2010-04-21 [Lepellier]: From the looks of this party, maybe a whole guide on sexuality in the realms might be a viable idea.
2010-04-21 [Duredhel]: Uhhhm.. aye (I should probably make a RoL essays section for this sort of stuff, but i guess i'll make a guide in the meantime.
2010-04-21 [Lepellier]: Wow...ok, I realized how dumb of a statement what I just said was...I swear I actually do know what I meant to say.
2010-04-21 [Ms. Steel]: 'cause...we're just one sexually messed-up party!
2010-04-21 [Fetish Dolly Koneko™]: Heheh yay! My character isnt particularly deviant. She just has a preference. And yes [Veltzeh] we do need to nitpick it. We can send Pms so we dont spam the comments. Hehe.
2010-04-21 [Lepellier]: Hmmm...at this rate, Virgil should be asexual to just add to the mass confusion. XD
2010-04-21 [Veltzeh]: Dur, yes, yes you should!
2010-04-21 [Duredhel]: Sexuality and Gender roles in RoL are interesting because two of the major religions have female goddesses and Dahkin were always highly matriarchal. So in that aspect, its unlike a regular medieval setting. I'll write up the guide then, in the meantime, if you guys have any questions, just ask me.
2010-04-21 [Veltzeh]: [Fetish Dolly Koneko™]: We could also talk on my character's page's comments. So others can introduce ideas too. X)
2010-04-21 [Duredhel]: As soon as Koneko comes up with a name, I can create a character sheet for her chara ;). I think there were examples of Rysallean names in the Races section.
2010-04-21 [Fetish Dolly Koneko™]: Awesome. Also I think my characters name will be Mireille Goldthorn.
2010-04-21 [Duredhel]: aye aye.
2010-04-21 [Duredhel]: created!
2010-04-22 [Sturmi]: I dont have AIM. But I've Gtalk, MSN and YM x_x
2010-04-22 [Duredhel]: Btw guys, for those who are picking skills and are confused by it, you can ask me anytime in comments or AIM, if I'm not around, mebbe Roma, Lep or Veltz can try to answer? (since you know how to work the skill trees) that way we can be done soon :D
2010-04-22 [Lepellier]: As in Yahoo IM?
2010-04-22 [Lepellier]: Aye, Any questions and I'm willing to answer.
2010-04-22 [Roma]: I have Gtalk, AIM, MSN, and Yahoo
2010-04-22 [Sturmi]: yahoo, yeah. I guess I could make up another account tho...
2010-04-23 [Duredhel]: Ok :O rule aspect is, for the most part done. As soon as all story aspects are covered, we can start. Now, would you guys like me to decide how your characters met and decide to form their little freelancing guild? or would you rather decide it amongst yourselves?
2010-04-23 [Lepellier]: Well, I know a few of us have intertwined backgrounds on how they met, as for deciding about how the guild was formed, I'm impartial, so I'll leave it up to everyone else.
2010-04-23 [Sturmi]: I'd rather have you make that part up, Dur... I haven't really made plans with anyone about that :/
2010-04-23 [Roma]: Well, Az'rim would be hunting in the woods most likely and she could have stumbled upon Mireille (how the hell do you pronounce that?) and Chese having a little foresty thief time, being the quiet, stealthy little Dah'kin she is. Or she could have intercepted Mir while both were hunting or something and the two began to talk. Maybe Az'rim somehow got Je'retiel to go into the woods with her and the four of them met. Then they could decide that starting up a party of freelancers would help their cause and they could go into the nearest town where, after putting up flyers, they meet Padma and Virgil!
2010-04-23 [Duredhel]: Aye, keep in mind yer all level one, so your characters are all relative noobs to the world (and unbearably weak XD)
2010-04-23 [Lepellier]: Chese and Virgil both know each other already from Decima. I'm starting to lean towards just having Dur come up with how this gets started now...
2010-04-23 [Veltzeh]: Okay, maybe Chese and Mireille met the two dah'kins in the forest (the dah'kins asked for directions or maybe something less "condescending
Dang, didn't manage to think Padma in there yet. Suggestions on that? :o
2010-04-23 [Roma]: She seems like someone you'd notice anyway. Maybe they caught sight of her at a marketplace where she was buying magical wares, or selling them.
2010-04-23 [Sturmi]: Padma could arrive to Decima somehow selling her grandma's potions (I can still change stuff on the story)
2010-04-23 [Sturmi]: Actually I will change it. So instead of this quest of hers to go looking for shamans, she'll be sent to sell pots in the growing grandma business. Or something. And then she gets intercepted by the group and starts a carrier as a freelancer xD
2010-04-23 [Roma]: And her element is White, which would put Az'rim and Je'retiel in need of healing potions that they could have bought from her. Maybe after the forest thieves find the Dah'kin again, Je'retiel could mention a catfolk shaman with White Magic and they'd go to the marketplace to find her.
2010-04-23 [Sturmi]: Good, except she's not catfolk :P
2010-04-23 [Roma]: Ah, whoops. Forgot that. I'll rearrange the files in my head about her XD
2010-04-24 [Duredhel]: Lemme know when you guys are all set with your character histories and stuff then.
2010-04-24 [Lepellier]: I think the only history we are waiting on is Koneko's, but after that, we should be good to go.
2010-04-24 [Sturmi]: hurry Koneko!
2010-04-24 [Fetish Dolly Koneko™]: Oh sorry!! Yes yes!! It will be up soon! Sorry about that!!
2010-04-24 [Veltzeh]: Remember to check Chese's history closely, I just finished it. :)
2010-04-25 [Duredhel]: ok guys, a little blurb on metagaming cuz I've seen a lot of it starting to pop up in the Xmen RP and I don't want it to pop up here (specially since RoL deals with a lot more intrigue and stuff).
Metagaming is when your character is aware of things he/she would have no way of knowing, because of the fact you, as a player, know them. Meaning that if a character is lying to yours, or if a character is an asshole, or whatever, as long as there are no indications of it, YOUR character should not be aware of it even if you read it in the other person's character sheet.
Since I want deception, paranoia and etc in RoL, to avoid metagaming, ALL results for rolls (bluff, diplomacy, detect lies, listen, spot, etc) will be private, meaning you'll get them in a PM. And from there, your character (as a character) can communicate the results to the party. That way the information available to the player will often be the same as the info the character has.
Still, if your character reacts to something in metagaming (for example them changing their demeanor towards another character because of something that character thought or did when your character couldnt see/hear him) I will point it out to you guys. That way we can hopefully have little to no metagaming soon :3.
2010-04-25 [Roma]: WEWT, I r in favur
2010-04-25 [Lepellier]: ...Yeah, sounds good to me...
2010-04-26 [Roma]: I was wondering about simple skills, like detect lies and that kinda stuff. Could we have a list of them so I know what I can attempt to do?
2010-04-26 [Duredhel]: Sure thing, basically you can attempt to do anything though. When you do, I determine which stat would apply to that. However i can make a list ;).
2010-04-26 [Roma]: Yes, Roma needs her list so she can cross reference and double check and whatnot. Tankoo :D
2010-04-27 [Duredhel]: Koneko, how's character making coming up, btw? :3
2010-04-28 [Duredhel]: RoL Actions List - Almost any action can be performed in RoL, and the GM will match it to a stat in order to determine success or failure, but here are a few core things that can be done.
Detect Lies (Cha or Int) - Figure out if someone is lying to you.
Bluff (Cha) - Tell another character something you know is false.
Diplomacy (Cha or Int) - Increase another character's disposition towards yours.
Intimidate (Cha or Str) - Scare another character.
Hide (Dex) - Hiding
Spot (Int) - Noticing something at a distance
Search (Int) - Finding something in particular up close.
Move Silently (Dex) - Moving without making noise.
Listen (Int) - Paying attention to particular noises around you
Run (Dex) - Beat someone in a short sprint
Climb (Str) - Climb up.
Swim (Str) - Swimming in a current or dangerous condition.
Jump (Dex) - Jump over something.
Scent (Int) - Catfolk only, sensing someone's smell.
Detect Disguises (Int) - Tell if someone is wearing a disguise
Disable Traps (Int) - Disable a trap.
Appraise (Int) - Figure out how much something is worth
Barter (Cha) - The art of trade, bonus is you've appraised the item.
Concentration (Con) - Keeping focused on the task at hand.
General knowledge (int) - knowing stuff about.. uh... stuff.
Ride (Dex) - Perform actions from a mount
Sense Magic (Mag) - Tell if something is magical or not.
Sleight of Hand (Dex) - Pickpocketing, stealing, etc.
2010-04-28 [Roma]: ^ slight
2010-04-28 [Ms. Steel]: A 'sleight' is in reference to a craftiness or cleverness. A trick. :-) It's the appropriate verbage.
2010-04-28 [Roma]: Then I have been misspelling it all this time! I'm about to yell at my mom for not pointing this out.
2010-04-28 [Ms. Steel]: Bah, homophones are a pain, anyway.
2010-04-29 [Duredhel]: Ok guys... not getting any answer from Koneko for several days now, I even PMed her. So I'm not sure what to do, the one condition I put for joining is ensure once a day posting and there's actually people in line to join this, but I figured i'd run stuff by the rest of you before I take action.
2010-04-29 [Roma]: If we're waiting on her even BEFORE the RP then it makes no sense not to assume that we're not going to have to wait on her in the RP. Hate to say it, but we need a new player.
2010-04-29 [Lepellier]: I agree with [Roma]. We've had mention up to get the character done for about a week now and as far as I know, no one has heard word from her. If there's people waiting in line, let one in.
2010-04-29 [Duredhel]: Ok then, sorry Veltz, but it seems yer gonna have to change your character background. I'm asking [Sunny Silverunicorn] in.
2010-04-29 [Lepellier]: o0o, Sunny. Sounds good. I remember back in RoLA.
2010-04-29 [Veltzeh]: Well, not necessarily if Sunny makes a sort of replacement character. XD Or if I say that after Decima, Mireille just went back to the forest.
2010-04-29 [Sturmi]: well we haven't even started yet, so changing things shouldn't be much of a problem
2010-04-30 [Duredhel]: Hopefully Sunny will post here soon so we can start working on a new character then :3
2010-05-03 [Sturmi]: weee
2010-05-04 [Duredhel]: Ok.. it seems Sunny is also taking a long time to post anything... I'm tempted to just create a GM character and start now, then i can kill it off if someone else joins. What do you guys think? Cuz this party should have started literally weeks ago...
2010-05-04 [Lepellier]: I'm down with that...
2010-05-04 [Roma]: GO, do it!
2010-05-04 [Veltzeh]: OK. I'll edit Chese's history so that Mireille just went back to the forest. :)
2010-05-05 [Duredhel]: We're starting this tomorrow even if it kills me guys >:o, imma make the GM char right now. If either Sunny or Koneko want to join in at any point, I can kill off that char and make a spot for them, but we won't be waiting for anyone anymore.
2010-05-05 [Roma]: -nuzz's teh Dur- YAY!
2010-05-05 [Sturmi]: alrighty
2010-05-06 [Ms. Steel]: woo-hoo!
2010-05-06 [Lepellier]: *cheers*
2010-05-06 [Duredhel]: ok, finished the new char :O! lemme know what you guys think :3.
Imma post the setting now.
2010-05-06 [Duredhel]: Aaaannnd we're off. Quick thing. Somehow Chese and Virgil, already hanging together, ended up in Ajdanen, ready to begin their freelancer's guild with whoever was available. Unfortunately, they could only recruit one young Caerhamian girl, Padma. They got on a merchant boat, figuring a trading town would be filled with adventurers and mercenaries, and after about two months of long voyage, they made their way to Khanidi.
In the meantime, the siblings Je'retiel and Az'rim also arrived at Khanidi, but by land, traveling north, away from Skarrad, and find themselves with little to no money and no prospects, standing in the docks of Khanidi, trying to figure out their next move.
First mission is simple :O! let's get this party together. I WILL be awarding XP for good RPing and successful usage of skills, so you can level up even without fighting guys!
2010-05-06 [Duredhel]: People can start whenever they want :O I won't get mad or anything....
2010-05-06 [Roma]: Ahaha, well Je'retiel, let's get going! But I'm sorta drawing a blank as to where to start. Maybe...they'r
2010-05-06 [Duredhel]: In whatever way is fun :3. Its like LT, so you can post something as simple as "My char looks around" but with more words, and wait for a GM post.
2010-05-06 [Roma]: Ok. I know how she's gonna enter. But what about the sun? Should she be cowled?
2010-05-06 [Duredhel]: Yeah its daytime, so you can have the Dah'kin cowled if you like.
2010-05-06 [Duredhel]: Those are good posts people :D. Roma dear, good idea pickpocketing for money, but first you need to find a target to use SoH on, so if you don't mind, I'll change it to spot so she can look for a good mark, and then you can use SoH on that person ;)
2010-05-06 [Veltzeh]: Wait, what? Did Chese and Mireille meet the dah'kins like I planned?
2010-05-06 [Duredhel]: uhm, in Chese's history it says they met two wandering Dah'kin once and pretty much hung out for the day, but it doesn't say anything about Az'rim and Je'retiel, and since the sibling's story ends with them just leaving Skarrad I assumed the Dah'kin Chese met were a different set of Dah'kin.
2010-05-06 [Veltzeh]: Damn, we planned that it'd have been Az'rim and Je'retiel but I didn't manage to write their names there. Oh well, guess it works too that they were other dah'kin.
2010-05-06 [Duredhel]: Yeah, i figured the purpose of the meeting (story-wise) was just to show Chese that Dah'kin are not so bad XD.
2010-05-06 [Roma]: Ahhh, sorry! Ok. Sounds good.
2010-05-06 [Duredhel]: Already did the GM post too :D
2010-05-06 [Duredhel]: You rolled a 2 >__> thank god it was to move silently and not the actual theft XD.
2010-05-06 [Duredhel]: The dice is being mean :3
2010-05-06 [Roma]: damn!
2010-05-06 [Duredhel]: They do have money for food and lodgings tho (60 GP) but it will only last three or four days :3
2010-05-06 [Roma]: oooooooooooooo
2010-05-06 [Duredhel]: Uhhm... a decent meal can go from 2 to 5 GP in an inn, and a double room usually goes around 5 to 10 a night.
2010-05-06 [Roma]: Ok. Be prepared for lots of questions and answering questions I didn't know I had (like SOH target).
2010-05-06 [Duredhel]: No prob. Just keep in mind that right now we're trying to get the two groups together :3
2010-05-07 [Duredhel]: did GM posts :O
2010-05-07 [Veltzeh]: Do we get a GM post too when we move to another area?
2010-05-07 [Veltzeh]: Lep, I think you need to switch one Chese for Virgil about in the middle of the post. X)
2010-05-07 [Lepellier]: I did, but I think I meant to type 'he' in the first place...XD
2010-05-07 [Duredhel]: Where do you want to move?
2010-05-07 [Duredhel]: Also, Lep, spot first, Gather info later, if there's a bad result to spot, i'm just going to assume Virgil had some sort of stroke and is now speaking to a nearby tree.
2010-05-07 [Veltzeh]: There is a spot first and gather info later...
2010-05-07 [Veltzeh]: Also, I guess the characters are just moving out of the docks through the most obvious path.
2010-05-07 [Duredhel]: Yes, but there is a gather info regardless of the results of the spot, which is very bad. And what I meant was, are they moving into an inn? a shop? up the main street? I'd rather just keep the characters here until they get together.
Btw I divided up the setting in two until both groups meet, just to make it easier to follow :3
2010-05-07 [Veltzeh]: Well, seeing as the docks is full of people and Virgil wanted to talk to a person, I think it would be clear that on a bad roll he manages to pick a person who's mute or doesn't speak the language. :P
They're moving elsewhere, going on that tour of the city they talked about earlier. I guess that of those choices, the main street would be the best.
I have no ideas on how they could get together, unless Az'rim tries to steal from Chese, fails and Chese is impressed. And even that sounds a bit cheesy. X)
2010-05-07 [Duredhel]: Virgil is looking for a knowledgeable person, so there's three possible options;
1 - He finds several people who look knowledgeable, but since Lep didn't specify one of them to talk to, Virgil ends up talking into the air.
2 - He finds no one who looks knowledgeable, and ends up taking into the air.
3 - He happens to find just ONE person, its the only situation in which Lep's post would do.
The post would've actually worked better without the Spot check, just going "he goes to the closest person and asks". If you ask for a check, WAIT until you get the GM post before you make another check.
And the easiest way to have the characters get together is called "Hi", something as simple as going up to them and going "Hi, do you know a good inn here?" will do, really. They can end up staying in the same inn and talk a bit into the magical "oh, yer having money problems too?"
2010-05-07 [Veltzeh]: Well, if that's the way you want to think it...
I'm having a hard time imagining why they'd go over their way to look for two discreet dah'kin and talk to them. And I already tried to have Chese spot capable people in the docks... Maybe they should end up in the same inn once the tour is over?
2010-05-07 [Duredhel]: Either way works.
2010-05-08 [Roma]: Well the tour could take a long time. I'd just as soon they all meet at the inn, but I suppose that's just not interesting, even if it does make logical sense.
And that's the exact reason that Az'rim didn't try to pickpocket Padma (I assumed she was the one in white, since her element is white) - even if she managed to get away with it she'd probably just leave with the money, not stick around and ask questions about decent inns or whatnot.
2010-05-08 [Duredhel]: They could go into the inn, get a room, leave their luggage there (some are carrying bedrolls, lanterns, rations, etc) and then go out to see the town.
2010-05-08 [Ms. Steel]: Comin' up.
2010-05-08 [Lepellier]: I was atleast hoping that he would have walked up to someone...Anyo
2010-05-08 [Veltzeh]: Gah, now they're not heading to even similar inns either! X)
2010-05-08 [Duredhel]: Its funny how Chese, Padma and Virgil assumed they're not almost broke when they have 75 GP amongst all 3 of them XD. The Dah'kin actually have more money per person.
2010-05-08 [Roma]: WAH, when did someone say that they were headed towards the other inn? Did I miss that?
2010-05-08 [Veltzeh]: [Roma]: well, when I posted, but apparently Chese isn't well listened at the moment. :P
2010-05-09 [Duredhel]: Once everyone gets to the Seaside Den, I'll post in a new setting, since its a small place, you'll all post together even if the groups have not joined yet (to represent the fact you will all be able to see and hear what the others do).
2010-05-09 [Duredhel]: Lep XD Is Virgil really gonna take his Bedroll Sack, Torches and Waterskin on a walk around town?
2010-05-09 [Lepellier]: Eh, maybe not...But he'll get to that once they get the room. He has no big thing with carrying it all. He's a boyscout. Always prepared. :P
2010-05-09 [Duredhel]: You know... i already know what sturms is gonna post, so imma go ahead and send you all into the Inn now XD!
2010-05-09 [Veltzeh]: You are psychic! :P
2010-05-09 [Duredhel]: Hhaha XD or sturms can just make Padma's post now :D
2010-05-09 [Sturmi]: I posted
2010-05-09 [Duredhel]: Yay, now I post ;)
2010-05-09 [Roma]: Ok, so we're all going to the inn :D And I have time today.
2010-05-09 [Duredhel]: Yup :D feel free to post. Everyone is standing by the door like.. 3 feet away from each other, so you could use the chance for introductions.
2010-05-09 [Duredhel]: Hahha XD insight. Don't have to make rolls for absolutely everything, guys :3. You can easily just go and write "Chese approaches the sailors to look at what's going on."
2010-05-09 [Veltzeh]: I'm going to sleep so try to not start posting like crazy there. X)
2010-05-09 [Veltzeh]: Well, I still have no idea at all what will get a roll and what not. Also Chese isn't getting particularly closer, just getting a less obstructed view.
2010-05-09 [Roma]: Well Az'rim's just going for the guy that it was posted everyone could see. I assume this is acceptable, correct? Old man behind bar + ledger = SOMEONE with info?
2010-05-09 [Duredhel]: Yup, no worries.
2010-05-10 [Duredhel]: Padma is gonna steal Jerry away from Az'rim XD!
2010-05-10 [Sturmi]: mbwahahah
2010-05-10 [Ms. Steel]: *laughs* Jerry...
2010-05-10 [Roma]: Ahaha, not with Az'rim on the watch. Or years of history. But hell, it would make for fun >:D
2010-05-10 [Roma]: Hmm...just need a GM post and then Az can meet Paddy
2010-05-10 [Ms. Steel]: I stayed at the Imperial Palace... in Las Vegas. It was neither imperial, nor was it a palace.
2010-05-10 [Veltzeh]: I see some height confusion there. Az'rim is 160 cm, Padma is 168, Je'retiel is 170, Chese is 171 and Virgil is 178. ;)
2010-05-10 [Veltzeh]: I hope that wall of text is somewhat congruent for what a socially intelligent character would do and say.
Another metagame issue is that since Virgil, Padma and Chese have spent months together now, they'd probably know how they want their room(s). So, do they all sleep in the same room, or separate ones? (And if there's some men-women issue, I'd think Padma and Chese trust Virgil's knightliness. Chese doesn't care though, she's used to running naked in the forest.) And how did they sleep in the ship?
2010-05-10 [Duredhel]: Hahah XD. I think Padma and Chese probably trust Virgil, but he'd be too much of a gentleman to share a room with two ladies. So It would probably be a double and a single.
2010-05-10 [Ms. Steel]: I thought it said she was 1,68 m tall in her bio, not cm. :-I
2010-05-10 [Ms. Steel]: Also, metric confuses me, obviously. :-)
2010-05-10 [Ms. Steel]: Thanks. Guess I could dust the cobwebs off that part of my brain. :-)
2010-05-10 [Veltzeh]: Hm, are you sure Az'rim wants to call a woman the same age as herself a "young girl", [Roma]? X)
2010-05-10 [Roma]: I must have overlooked that entirely :/ -fix-
2010-05-10 [Veltzeh]: I also recall that dah'kin age differently than humans (slower), but I can't find a mention of that in the new pages... or the old, actually, where the heck did that idea come from?
2010-05-10 [Duredhel]: They do :3
2010-05-10 [Roma]: But Chese acts so young. Dah'kin are also more advanced than humans in respect to what social age they are, so Az'rim would indeed find herself to be "older" than Chese.
2010-05-10 [Veltzeh]: She does? I'm pretty sure that's unintentional and I'm just failing here...
But wait, if dah'kin age more slowly, then I think Az'rim would feel younger compared to Chese. Since if humans are fully adult at the age of 25 and dah'kin at the age of 50, then Az'rim would be only halfway there while Chese would be done with growing. So to speak. It comes more down to personal feelings about the issue anyway. But even then Chese would feel grown up, while Az'rim could think that she's not fully mature yet. Hmmm... :o
2010-05-10 [Roma]: You're not failing, you're playing a chipper woman.
Dah'kin age physically more slowly than Humans.
Dah'kin age socially more quickly.
Therefore, Az'rim might look younger, but she acts like an older woman because she's been accustomed to being treated like an adult at a much younger age. At this point, she's been an adult for almost 10 years I think
Where is that timeline Dur made me...
2010-05-11 [Veltzeh]: Lol, I checked the dictionary to see what chipper meant (happy and talkative) and then I noticed the entry for "chippy", which means streetgirl in American, lumberjack in British and cranky in Canadian. XD
2010-05-11 [Veltzeh]: No no, you all need to stop capitalizing it. No one capitalizes humans, do they? Besides, I actually made a page about this back when I complained about it to Dur! X) http://realmso
2010-05-11 [Veltzeh]: Okay, now all shit hit the fan. I figure Chese and company could get Je'retiel to join, but how the heck would Az'rim come over? Unless she gets worried that Je'retiel is abandoning her, but how would she then convince Chese that she's worth it to take into the group? >_<
2010-05-11 [Ms. Steel]: Wellll...
2010-05-11 [Duredhel]: Er.... seemed Roma misunderstood the whole purpose of this first part >__< which was to get the group together.... Jerry could decide to join in spite of her sister, then she comes down and noticed she's ended up alone, then joins. Of course, that would be far more humiliating than her just negotiating right now instead of storming off and would destroy Az'rim's standing with her brother.
2010-05-11 [Ms. Steel]: That sounds about right. heh.
2010-05-11 [Veltzeh]: Yeah. We should wait for [Roma] to reply... And well, I could change my post if there's something Az'rim is really peeved at but I can't really know what it is and I don't know how to kiss her ass. XD
2010-05-11 [Sturmi]: She's just trying to play her part as evil dah'kin, but if we keep going like this we'll never get them to group up :S (why would the others be interested in them anyways? They're both too evil for the cheery Chese, Virgil and Padma)
But still, maybe if instead of rushing to her room she stood there for a minute we could figure a way to convince them to join
[Veltzeh] I think Az'rim wants an offer, like, I'll give you 20% of the money we make and all the black magic items. Or just say, we can get more loot if we work together, because we can take bigger missions. Or something like that.
2010-05-11 [Veltzeh]: [Sturmi], yeah, the key part is now that they don't know yet how evil the dah'kin are (and hopefully won't, cough)...
2010-05-11 [Duredhel]: I agree with Sturms too, it seems to me what Az'rim needs is an actual business proposal.
2010-05-11 [Veltzeh]: So should I take Roma's post off completely and change my own? Or wait until I get her comment on this?
2010-05-11 [Duredhel]: Lets wait to see what Roma says.
2010-05-11 [Roma]: Az'rim is waiting for an actual offer. If someone just came up to me and said "Hey, join my party but I'm not gonna tell you shit about it!" I'd tell them to go eat a dick. And she's coming back down, she's not going to stay up there. She's a hunter, she observes her surroundings. Depending on the roll for SPOT, she could either see Lilee and decide that she needs a strong woman like that around, or see nothing and just descend to talk to Virgil or then Chese could have thought of her offer.
2010-05-11 [Sturmi]: So we just continue without changing anything?
2010-05-11 [Veltzeh]: Meh. Now I'm getting the feeling that I can't do anything right.
2010-05-11 [Lepellier]: I think at this point it's that we just wait on Dur to post the results of the spot check. And don't worry Vel. You stated that you weren't exactly strong at playing the role of the party's speaker, so I'm going to guess that this is just beginner's jitters type of thing? (I really don't mean to sound crass about this. I'm just trying to state my thoughts and what it seems like to me.)
2010-05-11 [Veltzeh]: I guess... I also just don't know how I could have Chese react to that. >_>
2010-05-11 [Lepellier]: That too.
2010-05-11 [Veltzeh]: I have an idea, maybe I'll just write it and see how it comes out. :P
2010-05-11 [Duredhel]: The others can continued chatting downstairs while Az'rim storms off tho :3
2010-05-11 [Roma]: -arches brow- storms off? More like continues on her business.
2010-05-11 [Duredhel]: Hahah aye aye
2010-05-11 [Sturmi]: Virgil gets all the attention now
2010-05-11 [Roma]: Well he's kinda been ignored and he's the most likely for Az to approach. :D
2010-05-12 [Veltzeh]: Urgh, I can't imagine why Chese would want to join with Az'rim now...
2010-05-12 [Roma]: It's not like Az would be jumping for joy to be with Chese either, this is a ragtag group. Az and Virgil are going to go see about Lil Kahn.
2010-05-12 [Veltzeh]: How do we get them to behave then? Chese isn't going to just take any abuse... How should I have her respond to that?
2010-05-12 [Duredhel]: Uhhm.. I think we should keep in mind that Dah'kin are much more likely to be sly than they are to be proud, they need it for their political schemes, if they piss off an elder, they're in trouble. Pretending to be nice and like people they don't is something they're entirely capable of if said people have leverage over them, or they want to get leverage over said people.
2010-05-12 [Veltzeh]: I can only think of having Chese laugh but I don't know if that's a very good idea. :P
2010-05-12 [Sturmi]: [Veltzeh]: probably not
Well at least they have one common need, which is to increase their number. Somehow they'll have to negotiate at least a temporary agreement to try to work together for a while and then see how it goes.
2010-05-12 [Roma]: Hence the reason Az is going off to make herself more useful by finding someone strong. She comes back with another brute for the team and perhaps Chese will be more accepting.
2010-05-12 [Veltzeh]: Well Az'rim wouldn't have contributed anything to it, because she just took Virgil there. And Chese even suggested checking it out first...
2010-05-12 [Roma]: Oh my god, could we whine just a little bit more, please?
Chese didn't go. Az'rim did. </story>
2010-05-12 [Duredhel]: http://i168.ph
2010-05-12 [Roma]: ...she's fucking adorable. However, since neither Virgil nor Az'rim have put money on her with the innkeeper it doesn't make much sense for them to approach her yet. Either that or I'm drawing a blank, and if Az'rim just suggested that Lil Kahn arm wrestle Virgil I wonder what the consequences would be when the innkeeper found out...
2010-05-14 [Duredhel]: 17 raw strength >:3
Virgil's move, Lep :D
2010-05-14 [Roma]: I had assumed that there were too many people for the others to see the fight since Lil Kahn was on the other end of the bar...
2010-05-14 [Duredhel]: Other than the party, there's only a dozen or so people in the bar :3, though they are all around Lilee's table, but i guess the match could be glimpse amongst them.
2010-05-16 [Sturmi]: haha I foresee leadership conflicts in this party in the near future :P
2010-05-16 [Duredhel]: Lilee is not submitting to anyone who can't beat her in arm wrestling.
2010-05-16 [Roma]: Az'rim said her bit innocently...h
